Mary Jane is Dakota and Elle's maternal grandmother. Her maiden name was Odum, and she grew up in Georgia. She married Rick Arrington and they had two daughters, Joy and Tiffany. When Dakota and Elle are working on projects at the same time, Mary Jane helps out by taking one to the set while Joy Fanning takes the other. This was the case while Elle was working on Door in the Floor and Dakota on Man on Fire.
